The iceberg lettuce is as flavorless as it lacks nutrition. But any others have richer green chlorophyll, flavor and nutrients that a sugar dressing can't replace. There are more flavors and sensations to have than chewing white sand. So please eat it natural.

Dressings are also full of cheap oils, not healthy the way coconut oil is. You can Apple Cider Vinegar to make your own; the "mother" enzyme will add probiotics that will strong allies for your health.

Red leaf lettuce is frilly wavy. It will add a stimulating texture and color that will boost your pleasure.

Boston lettuce, also known as Butterhead and Butter lettuce, feels like eating silk! Especially the Bibb lettuce (smaller, more flavorful, and more expensive) that I used as image.

Boston lettuce provides:
  • Bioflavonoids protect the eyes and also the whole body against cancer.
  • Beta carotene in high doses. Protects against heart disease and cancer. Converted into the vitamin A. Prevents night blindness. Needed for growth and cell development, maintains healthy skin, hair, and nails as well as gums, glands, bones, and teeth.
  • Soluble fiber in high doses. Makes you feel full which may reduce your appetite. Lebanese cucumbers
are small but seem to have concentrated their flavor. They're my favorite because they're not waxed or sealed with heated plastic fumes.

Kirby cucumbers are traditionally used for pickling so they can't have wax. Fermenting them and letting healthy probiotics make their own vinegar is better than adding a less healthy one along with harmful sugars. They're not my favorite option for salads but change can be fun.

Garden cucumbers have a ticker skin and taste more like nature. They are usually coated in a wax that I can't clean off so it worries me. I'm glad when I find them without wax at farmer's markets. They are probably the most affordable.

English cucumbers are usually sealed in plastic that can be removed but might insert toxic vapors when sealed. They taste less bitter than garden cucumbers if you want to pay the extra cost.
